This balanced wine has a deep purple red color and aromatic scents of cedar, black pepper and mint, as well as a wispy nose of vanilla ice cream and baked oak barrel; round and silky texture with flavors of ripe black plum and black current; overall a very pleasing wine; Beringer is one of California's oldest and most respected wineries with a wide range of good value and high-quality wines.
Allow 20 - 30 minutes to breathe and serve at 18℃; the wine is great with steak, roasted ribs, skewered lamb or other BBQ meats.
16 months in 30% new French oak and 70% old French oak.
Drink nicely now but will age well for 5 - 8 years.
