Excellent price and quality wine that nicely expresses what a good Ribera del Duero Tempranillo should be. The wine has a dark ruby red color; spiced oak and red fruit nose; rich and concentrated cherry and blackberry flavors and a graceful smooth tannic finish. Hornillos Ballesteros is a well-respected Tempranillo specialist and an organic producer with wines that consistently outperform their price points.
Allow 30+ minutes for breathing and serve at 16℃; good with roasted meats, especially lamb, and a great companion to Dalian Snow Dragon beef.
14 months in French oak.
Drinking nicely now but can be cellared for a decade.
