Les Jamelles is consistently one of the best producers in southern France. The 2011 Merlot has a deep ruby-black red color; nice ripe, slightly bitter red berry liquor and plum nose, generous flavors of blackberry with hints of spices and smooth tannic finish. Since 1991, Les Jamelles has been managed by Catherine and Laurent Delaunay, two young winemakers from Burgundy whose family has been producing wine for four generations.
Allow 15+ minutes for breathing and serve at 16℃; good with white and red meats, fowl as well as cheese based dishes; matches nicely with Sichuan style twice cooked pork.
Part of the final blend is aged in oak barrels for 6 - 9 months.
Drink now or within 3 years.
