A fine example of an approachable but serious red wine from Toro. This wine is bright ruby red with an extroverted nose of red berries and violets, and on the palate concentrated dark fruit balanced by ample mouth-coating tannins. Established in 2000, Viñas Elias has quickly become a top winery in one of Spain's up-and-coming regions - Toro.
Allow 30 minutes for breathing, serve at 16℃; matches with roasted red meats and flavorful game or cured meats; also a fine companion for Taiwanese style deep-fried pig intestines or Cantonese style rice with cured meats in a clay pot.
6 months in American oak.
Drink now or over the next 4 - 5 years.
