This great first growth wine from Pauillac is known for its power and richness of dark berry flavors. Even in bad years, Latour can be a very good wine. Over the last 100 years, many wine connoisseurs consider this wine to be the most consistently great red wine of Bordeaux. The high percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon, approximately 80%, and strong tannins means that this wine should be aged several years (10+ years depending on the vintage) before drinking. Latour is an excellent match with Roast Beef, Rack of amb, Roasted Leg of Lamb as well as Prime Steaks without sauce.
