This structured and elegant right bank Bordeaux is one of the most reasonably-priced, premium, Saint-Émilion reds. The wine is deep red-purple, lively on the nose with black currant, smoky wood; flavors of spices and ripe black cherry, oak and a long smooth finish with a subtle oaky aftertaste. In 1997, the investor and wine lover Peter Kwok purchased this property for his daughter Elaine Kwok; today Château Haut-Brisson is very likely the best Chinese-owned winery in the world.
