Age-worthy, rich and profoundly fruity wine. The 2009 wine has a deep ruby-red color with hint of purple; lively, charming aromas of black berry, plum and subtle violet; the wine has balanced flavors of black fruits with notes of toasted oak and mint, powerful tannins and a long smooth finish of licorice and oak. Established in 1849, Yalumba is the oldest family-operated winery in Australia and a landmark for Barossa wines.
Allow 45 minutes to 1 hour for breathing and serve at 14 - 16℃; pairs with meat dishes seasoned with herbs or spices, such as grilled lamb chops with rosemary or stewed beef with star aniseed, also nice with Taiwanese style stewed beef.
19 months in French and Hungarian oak.
Drink nicely now and can be cellared for another 5+ years.
