Generally considered the world's best Merlot wine, Petrus is also Bordeaux's most expensive wine (along with Le Pin). In most vintages, this Pomerol wine is super rich and concentrated. Petrus is made of 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc and usually offers intense flavors of dark berries, coffee and other exotic flavors. In some vintages, the wine is 100% Merlot. Don't even think about this wine unless you are willing to spend a great deal of money. Enjoy this wine with Roast Beef, Roasted Leg of Lamb, Roasted Goose or Roasted Pheasant.
