Burgundy isn't known for producing a surplus of good, inexpensive wines. Many of the region's best inexpensive wines are consumed in France, not exported. This wine is one of the few ways for people in Taiwan get a quality Burgundy red wine at a relatively low price. This light ruby red wine has a medium-light body. The Pinot Noir fruit flavors of raspberries and strawberries are quite pronounced. Pair this wine with Baked Ham, BBQ Baby Back Ribs and Surf & Turf (Lobster & Grilled Filet). Serve this wine at 15 C°.
In part, in response to competition from New World Pinot Noir wines, many leading negociants of Burgundy have expanded their production of Pinot Noir wines under the general Bourgogne label. These wines tend to be well-made and affordable. The wines are usually more structured and tannic than their New World competitors.
