This pale golden colored wine has a stimulating fruit and floral bouquet. Layered flavors of tropical fruit, peach and creamy vanilla provide a very enjoyable drinking experience. Aged for over a year in small French oak barrels this wine has subtle, not overwhelming, toasty oak flavors. Over the past few decades, the winemakers at Mondavi have increasingly tried to turn out elegant, rather than just powerful, well-balanced Chardonnay wines. The 1998 vintage Chardonnay Reserve attests to their continuing success. This is an unfiltered wine so you may find (as we did) a few natural crystals have formed in the wine. Enjoy this wine with Lightly Smoked Grilled Salmon Steak with Bearnaise Sauce, Dover Sole with Light Mustard Sauce or Plain Broiled Halibut. This wine may also be paired with elegant Chinese fish dishes. Serve this wine about 10℃.
