At $450 this is an inexpensive way to taste a well-made fruity Shiraz wine from the hottest good-value, wine-producing regions of France.
This wine has a medium-dark purple-red color and a friendly, attractive nose of spicy ripe fruit. The present red colour is impressive. The wine offers an abundance of ripe red fruits with the typical Shiraz hint of pepper. The wine is soft on the palate but has enough tannins to balance the natural fruitiness of the wine. This is a pleasant wine suitable for informal meat dishes including Italian Grilled Sausages, Meatloaf and Mashed Potatoes and Roasted Pig's Knuckle. This wine also matches well with spicy Szechuan dishes like "Kung Bao" Chicken, "Ma-Po" spicy Tofu and "Wu-Jing" Pig's Intestine and Duck Blood. Serve this wine slightly below room temperature, about 16 C°.
LURTON SA was founded in 1988 by two brothers (Jacques & Francois), the sons of a respected Bordeaux owner-grower. The company now produces a wide range of good value, award-winning wines in six different countries: Argentina, Australia, Chile, France, Spain and Uruguay. Their approach of combining modern technology with traditional winemaking methods has made the company one o the most respected good-value wine producers.
