This is one of the finest Zinfandel wines available in Taiwan. Try this excellent American variety wine for about $1,500.
Lovers of Zinfandel wines recognize Geyserville as one of the premier Zinfandel wines in the world. Since 1966, Ridge has been producing Zinfandel wines, blended with other varieties, with great success. This wine has a very dark purple red color and peppery spice bouquet. On the palate the wine opens up into a symphony of ripe black cherry, blueberry and coffee flavors. This is a very big, robust wine (14.2% alcohol) with a very long and satisfying spicy finish. Match this powerful wine with Roasted Stuff Turkey, Roasted Duck with Sour Cream Peppercorn Sauce and Blackpepper Steak. This wine also matches nicely with Mongolian Roasted Lamb and Aged Yak Cheese. Serve this wine at 18 ℃.
In 1959, four Electrical Engineers from the Stamford Research Institute bought a vineyard in Monte Bello Ridge. The four engineers and their wives worked the vineyard on the weekends and sold the grapes to nearby wineries. By the mid 1960s they were making their own wines and experimenting with different varieties from single vineyards. Ridge Winery is now one of the most respected wine producers in the U.S. and a leading advocate of single.
