One of the best tasting Merlots under $1,000, this is a big robust red wine. Mont Gras is a young winery that has reached a very high level of wine making in a ridiculously short time. The dark purple-ruby red color and heady bouquet of plums, chocolate and spices are impressive. The wine exhibits tatses of dark berries, black cherries and tabacco. This is a very impressive wine for the money and should be paired with hearty meat stews and beef or lamb roasts. Serve at 18℃.
