Pleasant, good value Spanish red wine with ruby red color, red fruit and oak nose and well-balanced flavors of ripe red fruit and a little smokiness; the wine has a nice soft texture and decently long finish; since the 1970 vintage wines were first released in 1975, El Coto de Rioja has been winning acclaim from wine connoisseurs and critics for their excellent, oaky red wines; the company has approximately 15 million bottles of oak aged red wine resting in their cellars.
Allow 15 minutes for breathing and serve at 18℃; match with a wide variety of Spanish tapas and also Chinese meat dishes including Beijing style BBQ lamb.
Minimum one year in American oak and one year bottle aging.
Best enjoyed now but can be kept another year or two.
