Despite all the troubles at the Robert Mondavi Winery, the company's flagship Chardonnay Reserve remains a top California white wine with golden color, ripe yellow fruit and floral bouquet and concentrated multi-layered flavors of tropical fruit, peach and creamy vanilla and a lasting oaky-vanilla finish; this is an unfiltered wine so you may find (as we did) a few natural crystals have formed in the wine; enjoy with elegant fish dishes as well as white meats like veal, chicken and pork; once the single most important quality producer in the U.S., the Robert Mondavi Winery is now a public company with no involvement by Robert Mondavi and is increasingly emphasizing inexpensive mass-produced wines.
