The 2000 La Truffiere is a young wine that's very drinkable now; the wine has a ruby to brick red color, a lovely Grenache nose of dark fruit, spices and a touch of pleasant earthiness and concentrated flavors of black berries, black cherries and spices and yes even a bit of truffles; the wine needs at least an hour to breath after which the wine starts to open up with a wonderful complexity and richness; match with roast beef, lamb and dark meat birds; founded in 1989, by the association of three ancient estates; Saint-Benoit, under the leadership of dynamic Gerard Jacumin, has gained a reputation for top Cote du Rhone and Chateauneuf-du-Pape wines.
