Impressive Super Tuscan wine with garnet-ruby red color, dark fruit, spices and oak nose and very concentrated black current and toasted oak flavors; in the mouth the wine is quite tannic but smooth; overall this is a very well made wine with balance and power; match with hearty meat dishes including wild boar, beef roasts and meat stews; established in 1141 by the Ricasoli family and returned to family ownership in 1993; the estate is run by the 32nd Barone Ricasoli, Francesco Ricasoli, producing award-winning wines that are among Italy's finest.
