Made from the distinctive Italian Barbera variety, the wine has a lovely dark red-purple color, lively raseberry and cherry nose and typical Barbera flavors of red currents with a touch of smokiness; the wine exhibits some of the tart and refreshing qualities of a white wine and is truly Italian in personality; match with a variety of meat dishes as well as with grilled or baked salmon and cod; established in 1881, Pio Cesare is family run winery that produces some of Piedmont's most admired red wines.
