Lot's of delicious California Cabernet Sauvignon flavor at a low cost, this wine is actually a blend or four varieties; the wine features a dark purple-red color, fragrant nose of black fruit, especially black cherries, and coffee and fairly concentrated flavors of dark fruit and tobacco with a hint of oak; aged in a combination of French and American oak, the wine has a long and slightly spicy finish; match with a wide variety of red and white meat dishes as well as Northern Chinese meat dishes; founded in 1981, R. H. Phillips is the only winery in the Dunnigan Hills AVA with a range of reasonably-priced, very well-made white and red wines.
