2000 is one of the best vintages from this lesser known Chateau, with a dense purple-red color, cassis and dark fruit nose and concentrated flavors of plums, chocolate and oak with a touch of spice and an impressively long finish; the terrier pedigree is very apparent in the 2000 vintage, an excellent effort for this chateau; a great wine to enjoy with beef in a bone marrow sauce or a richly flavored lamb stew; a Saint Emilion Grand Cru, Chateau Puy-Blanquet is a large property that has a reputation for turning out bad wines in bad years and great wines, as well as good values, in great years.
