Even better than the fine 1994 wine, this is a luscious and generous Pomerol wine; the wine has a dark brick red color, elegant nose of black berries and leather and delicious plum, cassis and cocoa flavors with a long round tannic finish; this is a complex wine that needs at least 30~40 minutes of breathing to develop; match this classic right Bank Bordeaux with lamb chops, rack of lamb and roasted duck; still not getting the attention it deserves, Chateau Lafleur du Roy is one of the best-kept secrets of Pomerol making elegant wines that remain excellent values.
