Medium-bodied red wine from an excellent Rhone vintage, the 2001 wine has a ruby red color, red fruit and spices nose and slightly tart flavors of raspberries and black pepper and a touch of oak; this is a refreshing red wine that's best served slightly chilled; match with challenging Chinese and Asian dishes including Szechuan and Hunan meat dishes; E. Guigal is arguably the most famous Northern Rhone producer making a wide range of expensive wines as well as some less expensive wines from the Southern Rhone.
