Right Bank Bordeaux style red wine that's another testament to the consistent excellence of Newton Vineyards, the wine has a deep purple-red color, complex nose of red berries, blueberries and cassis and concentrated favors of black fruit with hints of leather and toasted oak and a long, smooth tannic finish. Newton Vineyards winery was established in 1977 by Peter Newton and Dr. Su Hua. The winery's other vineyards are seated in the Los Carneros region, which is especially well known for the production of premium Chardonnays.
Allow 20 ~30 minutes for breathing and serve 18℃; the good balance of the wine make it quite food-friendly pairing well with a wide variety of meats including roasted pork and baby back ribs as well as Chinese pork dishes like Braised Pork with Mustard Cabbage.
8 months in French oak.
Lovely now and can be cellared for another 7 ~ 10 years.
