The original first growth, this wine is often the most balanced and subtle of Bordeaux red wines; the 1982 wine features a deep purple-red color, ripe dark berries, cassis and mineral nose and layer upon layer of dark fruit, leather and spice flavors and a long, complex finish; in the early 16th century when Medoc was a swamp, Haut Brion was already a famous wine; owned by U.S. banker Clarence Dillon since 1935, this estate has been a technology innovator in Bordeaux making one of the world's greatest wines.
Serve at 18℃, the wine still young and needs 1.5 hours of breathing; match with Lamb, Prime Rib and Roasted Duck.
