2004 is an even better vintage for Pio Cesare's Barolo than the fine 1998 with more concentration and richness; this robust wine has a dark brick red color, attractive black cherry nose and generous flavors of blackcurrants, black cherries, oak and a touch of leather; the wine exhibits good balance and complexity; established in 1881, Pio Cesare has been in the same family for more than 100 years and four generations; today, the winery produces some of the most admired wines from Piedmont.
