One of the most consistently good Australian red wines, this reasonably-priced premium wine has a dark purple color with reddish hue, spicy red and dark fruit nose and plum, chocolate, tobacco and oak flavors and very nice smooth tannic finish; the three Rhone Valley varieties (Grenache, Shiraz & Mourvedre) give the wine a spicy character; started by coffee trader Bob Oatley in 1969, Rosemount is now part of the Southcorp Group (along with Penfolds, Lindemans, etc.) and considered one of Australia's top red wine producers.
Serve at 18℃; a hearty wine best enjoyed with roasted meats or rich meat stews or slightly spicy Asian meat dishes.
