Prize-winning wine with a surprising 50% Petit Verdot, this excellent wine features a dark red-purple color, complex nose of red berries, flowers and minerals and an intriguing combination of blackberries, plums, tobacco and spices and a long smooth finish; established in 1999 to make wine in the up-and-coming Jumilla region, Casa de la Ermita is now the largest producer in the region and a new star in Spanish wines.
Allow 40+ minutes for breathing and serve at 18℃; good with a wide range of red meat dishes including Guizhou Style Roasted Pork Ribs and Xinjiang Style Lamb Kebabs.
Monastrell aged 13 months in American oak, Petit Verdot aged 13 months in French oak.
