This is a good, fun Chianti wine. At under $500 it's a typically light but charming Italian wine that's well worth trying.

A Chianti wine should be refreshing. This wine is a good example of the fresh and fruity wines that Chianti admirers cherish. The light body and slightly tart finish are very appropriate for a Summer drinking wine. The cherry and strawberry fruit flavors are very pleasant. The 2000 vintage was very hot and quite good for Ruffino’s Chianti wines. Match this wine with meat, mushroom or other pizzas as well as meat, cheese or white wine pasta dishes. Other good matches include Italian Antipasto or even hot and cold Cantonese meat dishes. Serve this wine chilled, about 16℃.
Ruffino is one of the largest and most respected Chianti merchants. Established in 1877, the company was purchased by the Folonari family in 1913. Since then this family owned company has produced a wide range of Chianti wines, from good value wines to collector wines.
