For only a little over $500 this wine offers intense fruit flavors and good structure.
In Western Australia, the 2001 vintage was one of the driest and this is reflected by the excellent concentration of this wine. The deep purple color and almost jam-like bouquet are very attractive. The wine also has hints of spice from the Shiraz grapes and firm tannins from the Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. In many ways the style and taste of this wine is typically Australian. It's a robust, "in-your-face" wine with no pretensions. Enjoy this wine with BBQ Chicken, BBQ Ribs and even Korean Style BBQ.
Established in 1968 by Irishman John Logan, Xanadu Wines has expanded rapidly and build a very good reputation in the Australian wine industry. The company purchased the historic Norman Winery (established in 1853) and expanded its own properties along the Margaret River region of Western Australia. The family-owned company now produces 11 varieties of wine under three different labels.
