This is a nicely made wine with classic Bordeaux style and balance. At just under $900 it's an economical way to experience a very good quality wine.

This wine will please lovers of Bordeaux wines. The 1999 vintage wine has an excellent dark ruby red color and slightly spicy bouquet. Refined fruit flavors like raspberry and blueberry are complemented by hints of coffee and tobacco flavors. The wine is nicely round and full in the mouth and has well-developed, but not overwhelming, tannins. Overall, the wine has the good balance one looks for in quality Bordeaux wines. This wine goes well with a variety of meats and cheese including Rack of Lamb, Roasted Loin of Veal and Prime Steaks. Serve this wine at 18 ℃.
Located in one of the oldest wine areas of Bordeaux, Chateau Haut de Malleret had a reputation for good quality, reasonably priced wines as early as the mid 1700s. The owners since 1807, the Clossman Family, are renowned horsemen and breeders of champion horses.
