This is an extremely rare and special Champagne from a great vintage that's made in traditional Champagne style from three small vineyards that resisted the dreaded phylloxera disease that decimated most the vines in Champagne; the vines from these three vineyards are the only vines in Champagne over 100 years old and in respect to the great age of the vines, the entire process of making this wine is done by hand as it was done in the 18th and 19th centuries; the wine has a lovely deep golden color, expressive nose of ripe berries and wild flowers and concentrated yellow and red fruit flavors that explode in the mouth and have an elegant long finish; with complex and delicious flavors; if you are a fan of Champagne wines and want to taste Champagne made in a style similar to the Champagnes that Napoleon or Queen Victoria drank, try this wine; this wine matches well with a variety of fine foods, in particular with fish (elegantly prepared Dover Sole, Turbot, Pike, Salmon and Trout dishes), white meats (elegant pork, chicken and veal dishes with sauces, especially sauces made with Champagne) and fatty meats like roasted duck; since 1829, this family owned business has been one of the greatest Champagne houses with numerous top quality vineyards that produce some of the best vintage and non-vintage Champagnes.
