The early autumn weather in Piedmont in 2001 was very hot and some excellent red wines were made including this delightful Barbera wine from one of the region's best producers; the wine features a bright ruby-garnet red color, lively red berry nose and enticing flavors of strawberry, red current and spices; this is a distinct Barbera wine with good acidity and a better texture or mouthfeel than most Barbera wines; serve slightly chilled and enjoy this wine with chicken, pork and Chinese meat dishes as well as some elegant fish dishes; founded in the late 1930s, the Ceretto Estate is now one of the most respected producers in Piedmont with a wide range of highly acclaimed red, white, sweet and grappa wines.
