Unmistakably exuberant and powerful New World red wine, this wine has a deep purple red color, initially reserved than very expressive nose of ripe black and red berries and spices and concentrated almost jammy flavors of plums, cherries along with hints of chocolate and leather; the finish is long and tannic but remarkably smooth and round; enjoy with roasted turkey, steaks, lamb chops and mutton stews; in 1948, farmer John Kautz starting making wines and by the late 1980s started making premium wines from the Ironstone vineyard that are now highly regarded and have won numerous international competitions.
