The least expensive of the wines presented in this feature article, this medium body wine still has considerable class with ruby-brick red color, lovely dark berry and spices nose and austere red and black fruit flavors and pleasant tannic finish; a remarkable effort considering the price.
Allow at least 30 minutes for breathing and serve at 16˚C; the medium body and tannic nature of this wine make appropriate with some elegant seafood and also very nice with roasted duck, pigeon and other slightly greasy birds as well as Beijing Roasted Duck.
30% of the wine aged 4 months in French oak.
Can be enjoyed now or over the next 5 years.
