Another example of the benefits of Carneros' cool climate on Burgundian varieties, this wine has a bright ruby red color, aromatic scents of black cherries and red berries with a touch of minerals and lots of fresh strawberry and black cherry fruit flavors and an intriguing spiciness with a slightly smoky, soft tannic finish.
Allow 15+ minutes for breathing and serve at 16℃; the good acidity of this wine make it a lovely companion to elegant fish dishes including grilled sea bass in Dijon mustard sauce and deed-fired flounder with pepper-salt; also very nice with roasted fowl like duck or turkey.
1 year in French oak.
Enjoy over the next 4 or 5 years.
