The best Bordeaux white wines (usually from Graves) are extravagantly expensive, however, this $1,600 winner from Pauillac is a and delicious white wine that won't bust your budget.
The wine, beautifully packaged in a clear bottle with white and gold label, has a brilliant light yellow color. The bouquet offers citrus and herbal scents that grow more intense as the wine develops in the glass. This wine offers clean, refreshing tastes of unripe peaches and citrus with a very crisp and slightly oaky finish. Like all good Bordeaux whites this is a well-structured wine with good acidity. Chateau Lynch-Bages, 5th Growth Pauillac, is one of the world's most beloved red wines. In 1987, the chateau planted a white vineyard of five hectares consisting of the Bordeaux white wine grape varieties Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon along with a little Muscadelle. In 1993, new owner Jean-Charles Cazes decided to put more effort into the white wine production. Annual white wine production is now 2,400 cases and the wine has received very favourable reviews from the world's wine press.
