Essentially the third wine of Chateau Beychevelle, this is a smooth, medium-bodied red wine with ruby red color, red berries and spice nose and pleasant flavors of dark berries, plums and a little chocolate; 2000 was an exceptional vintage for Bordeaux and this wine exhibits the balance and complexity of a great vintage; match with grilled chicken and roast pork dishes; partially owned by the giant Japanese company Suntory, Chateau Beychevelle is a historic fourth growth Saint Julien wine famous for elegant wines and a beautiful mansion.
