The Vire-Clesse Appellation offers classic Burgundian elegance at a surprisingly low prices; this stylish wine exhibits a bright yellow color with hints of green, nice ripe yellow fruit and mineral nose and round and pleasing flavors of peaches, ripe citrus and subtle oak; a good expression of the very hot 2003 vintage that tended to make opulent white wines, the wine has an impressive weight in the mouth and nice, non-aggressive, acidity; match with elegant shellfish dishes like Oysters Rockefeller or Lobster Thermador; Chanson is a respected large grower-negotiant with a long history ~ now owned by the Champagne house Bollinger.
