A surprisingly good, low-cost Merlot, the Sunrise Ridge, Reserve Merlot, 1998 is a good value easy drinking wine. This is a medium-bodied wine that offers soft Merlot fruit flavors that are balanced by decent tannins. It is very appropriate for everyday drinking. Sunrise Ridge is one of the lesser-known but well respected producers from Monterey County. This historic and scenic region is building a reputation for producing very fine wines.
This wine only needs about 10~15 minutes to breath. Matches with grilled meats, BBQ meats and even Beijing Duck and other Northern Chinese meat dishes.
